Ijeoma Ugwu is a Food Scientist cum Nutritionist. Founder Brainfoods for Guts and Psychology. She is passionate about nutrition as a tool for management of chronic illnesses. She doubles as a nutritional therapist and health food creator producing gluten free foods. She advocates for the healing powers of food applying her knowledge of Food, its nutrients and sciences. Her special interest lies in the use of nutrition in the management of Autism Spectrum Disorder and related conditions alongside other complementary therapies.

Ijeoma is particularly interested in providing safe local alternatives to the nutritional needs of individuals with special nutritional needs. She strives to bridge the gap between the hypoallergenic feeding style demanded by their physiological make up and the knowledge of the availability of such foods in our locality.

She has carved herself a niche in healthcare industry through her amiable approach to providing solutions to the nutritional needs of her teeming clientele. She believes that creating a warm atmosphere around her clients enables a relaxed mind which serves as a prerequisite to the healing itself.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology, (UNN), a Master’s degree in Food Technology, (Ghent University/K.U Leuven, Belgium), a professional diploma in Nutritional Studies (Nutrition School, UK) and a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition majoring in Clinical Nutrition and Diet Therapy (University of Ibadan, in view).

Through her work she has risen to present to families affected by chronic illnesses the beacon of hope through nutrition.
