As policy makers and technical experts work to connect the remaining two-thirds of the world s nations, the way in which the Internet is governed will likely have an impact on how we use it and how it evolves.

The Internet Society is working for an open, globally-connected, trustworthy, and secure Internet for everyone. We aim to reform-decision making approaches to deliver sound Internet policies that put people s interests at the center. We want to build a digital future that puts people first.

In Africa, we have been working closely with organizations such as the African Union on a new set of guidelines that highlight how privacy protection and the responsible use of personal data are critical factors in building greater trust online and in advancing the digital economy in Africa.

We will also empower youth as a key force to organize their advocacy and defend their rights as we shape the future of the Internet. Their voices must be heard in the digital future. Together we can help them make their voices count.
