The advent of social media has given everyone the opportunity to have a voice and speak up on issues they are passionate about and invested in. This has been a double-edged sword with people both using their platforms to build, contribute positively and improve on the narrative and happenings in the society, and those who peddle fake news and tear down the image of individuals, categories and groups of people, as well as the nation as a whole.

More and more influential people are being called upon to take on the mantle of using their platform for social good by reflecting a positive image of the society, culture and country they represent, to lending their voices using various media in speaking up against social injustice, holding leaders accountable, as well as inspiring people to positive actions such as running for public office and making their votes count.

More and more influencers are rising to the occasion by becoming more responsible in their content, their image and their offerings. There is still the challenge of proper storytelling, content creation and dispersion for influencers and those who seek to lend their voices to social change, using social media for good.

This panel session will feature top influencers from Thought Leadership, Business, Publishing, Music and the Movie Industry who have been known to champion social good by leveraging storytelling, content creation and social media. They will share with the audience how they can also take up responsibility and use these same tools to make a difference using social media platforms.
