Fake News: How New Media is Changing the Course of History, is a panel discussing the power of social media and fake news - we hear the term a lot but we haven't fully grasped just how much fake news has impacted our world.

It has the power to sway elections.
It has the power to take lives.
It has the power to make people think rumors are facts.
It has the power to cause fights across ethnic lines.

And because of social media everyone is able to like, share and spread fake news at unprecedented rates. What does this mean for the world? What does this mean for Nigeria? And what can we do to stop this?

We look forward to seeing you at our panel of industry heavyweights to discuss all this, you'll learn:

- How much fake news has impacted the world, Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
- Why developing countries are even more vulnerable to fake news.
- How to discern between fake news and real news.
- What is being done the world over to combat fake news.
- Why your voice and stories matter to combat this.
