PROFILE OF DARLINGTON DAVID UDOBONG
Darlington, whose hobby includes Tennis, Squash, Scrabble and Chess, was born on the 12th of October, 1979, to the family of late Sunday David Udobong of Ikpa Ikot Uneke in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Darlington holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja, a proficiency Certificate in Management from the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) and is an alumnus of the University of Uyo from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics in 2005.
Darlington is a certified member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the Akwa Ibom State Council of Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) as well as an Executive Council member of the Akwa Ibom Interest Movement (AIM), an apolitical advocacy group that is economic and development oriented.
He was a classroom teacher at Sekona Grammar School, Ede, Osun State, where he did his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2008.He had his primary and secondary school education at Oladipo Primary School and Cardoso High School, Apapa, Lagos, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate and Senior Secondary School Certificate.
He was Head of Press Corps/Media Assistant in the Office of the Press Secretary to Speakers of the Third and Fourth Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly; Media Assistant in the Office of the Press Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Deputy Governor (2009 - 2015), Managing Editor of Ibom Telegraph Newspaper, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Olgette Projects Limited and current the Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
